I hope you enjoy the 1st Edition of the Coquina Marina Newsletter!
My name is Robin Braig and I am proud to serve as your manager here at the new and improved Coquina Marina! I join you after manger stints in the Florida Keys and most recently Delray Beach. I am a live aboard here on my vessel Last Lap (Slip C-53). I am joined by longtime employee and sailors Dock Master Rob Prellwitz, Assistant Dock Master Chris Robbins and 25-year NASCAR Master Captain Ron Lane.
As our Summer Cruising Season approaches we have many exciting improvements to this wonderful facility including:
Relocation of the Flagpole-moved to the bridge area outside of B Dock and will mark the center of the channel as boaters approach our basin. In addition to the American flag, she will proudly sport the colors of the State of Florida, our Clean Marina Award flag as well as a newly designed Coquina Marnia flag and burgess. The Stars and Stripes will be lit from the ground.
Fresh Paint on all the Docks and Decks-No more "hot-on-the-feet" brown paint! The new "Sand Dollar" tint has really brighten our docks and the two thick coats of paint filled the cracks. We hope you enjoy the new look.
The 2 Tennis Courts have been renovated and are ready for your use. If you are looking for a tennis partner-let us know and we'll hook you up ! Check with the Dock Master's Office for the Gate Code.
We added a new "blower" to our beloved hot tub. Check it out-soooo sooothing now!
We have installed a new ICW sign of the end of C-Dock announcing our facility being open to the public. I think you'll like it when you see it-especially at night as it is lighted! A new Ballough Road sign and replacement of the Seabreeze Bridge sign will also go in place this month.
We have been meeting with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Environmental Protection renewing permits to dredge our basin. You will hear more in the coming months as we intend to return the marina to it's original depths.
We are expanding to include the former NASCAR Marina slips to the south. We can now host vessels in excess of 100' ... please spread the word to your fellow mariners.
Check out our brand new website www.couquinamarinadaytona.com designed by Daytona Beach's own Zgraph Inc. Let us know what you think of it please.
Finally, on behalf of all of us associated with Coquina Marina, we thank your for your business. Don't hesitate to tell us your ideas for further improvements. We're going to plan some cookouts around the pool and other activities in the months ahead.
All the best to my fellow boaters-see you on the water and remember to "keep her between the navigational beacons" :)
